TFT supports talented local artists

The Guildford office of Tuffin Ferraby Taylor (TFT), the independent property and construction consultant, recently hosted an art and photography exhibition, as part of its Open Door initiative.

Talented local art students from The Guildford College of Further Education were invited to display and host their work in TFT's Guildford office on the 26th June. As part of the event TFT organised a Photography Masterclass given by professional photographer Anthony Hurren.

The Deputy Mayor of Guildford, Councillor Pauline Searle, was on hand to open the evening. Other guests included TFT staff, local businesses, local suppliers, parents and students as well as a good turn out from the teaching staff at the college.

Four photography prints were sold on the night and many more enquires were made that could lead to more of the exhibits being sold over the coming weeks.

Christine Keates Lewis, HR and Operations Partner, says: "It was a really enjoyable evening. I was amazed at the level of talent and the quality of the local art students' work. I hope that this evening gave them a valuable insight into the commercial side of the art world. Events like these showcase the worth of TFT's Open Door programme, which is designed to support TFT's local communities and highlights what can be achieved when businesses are committed to the communities around them.

"With these young students facing the dual difficulties of not only entering the notoriously difficult art world, but the current employment marketplace as a whole, being given public space and the opportunity to exhibit their work, will hopefully instil some optimism about their future prospects."
